Oh, does this resonate with me. Every time I think about leaving the city (a more frequent occurrence these days), I remember: DRIVING. I was bad at it when I was a suburban teen, and can't imagine my skills will improve as I age. So moving to Europe is really my only option.

If it’s any consolation, I’ve made the drive from LA to my parents’ house in Tucson approximately 100,000 times over the course of the pandemic—and so far, so good! I think I’ve achieved Audible Hall of Fame status in the process.

Country driving is relaxing! I think it will ease you back into driving again and before you know it you’ll be zipping through the highways and freeways, traffic and all! You can do it!

Rural driving is the polar opposite of urban driving, much less chaos and frenzy. Hopefully that will ease you into some level of comfort with it. I personally love driving. I love the alone time it gives me with music or podcasts or just my own thoughts. A solo road trip is pure heaven for me. So I am sending my driving ju-ju your way!!

Here's an idea - take kittens and cookies with you when you drive! Then if things get scary you can just pull over, have a snack and pet some kittens, which are very comforting. :)
